Meta’s Vibes, Microsoft’s Copilot Expansion, MIT’s Imaging AI, and C3 AI’s Industry Win

Hey! Nicole here with the latest AI news that caught my eye this week. We’ve got Meta rolling out something pretty cool for video creators, Microsoft making Copilot even more powerful, and MIT dropping a game-changer for medical research. Plus, C3 AI got some well-deserved recognition. Let’s dig into what all this means for you and your business.

This Week’s Insights

MIT’s AI-Powered Imaging Tool Accelerates Medical Research

MIT researchers just dropped MultiverSeg, an AI tool that’s about to make biomedical researchers’ lives so much easier. Picture this: instead of spending weeks manually labeling medical images, you just make a few clicks or scribbles, and boom the AI learns and handles entire datasets on its own. No pre-labeled training data needed. We’re talking serious time savings for clinical research, drug trials, and even radiation treatment planning.

Why it matters:
If you’re in life sciences or medical devices, this could mean faster insights and way lower R&D costs. But here’s the thing even if healthcare isn’t your world, this shows us where AI is headed. Would you go to an AI first medical center?

I had to go to urgent care on Saturday and it ended up being a collaborative appointment with the Dr., her AI, me, and ChatGPT. The AI found the real issue before the Dr. did. She still ordered around $1k of tests and the AI was right, and it took 3 days to get the results back. Thank goodness for the AI – she gave me the treatment for what AI was suggesting so we got on it early enough. More about this in an upcoming blog post.

Microsoft Expands Copilot with Anthropic’s Claude Models

Microsoft just made Copilot a lot more interesting by bringing in Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1 models. What does this mean for you? More AI options for complex reasoning and workflow automation. The standout feature? A new “Researcher” agent that can dive deep into both web searches and your company’s internal data. Plus, Copilot Studio lets you build custom AI agents that actually understand your business.

Why it matters:
If you’re already using Copilot, in your company, likely the adoption and usage has been pretty low. This might give your team a reason to start using AI more and saving you money instead of waisting it on AI. If you want to upskill your workforce to ensure they are useing it to the max, give us a call or send Vanessa an email. Vanessa@aismartventures.com

Meta Launches ‘Vibes’ for AI-Generated Video Creation

Meta’s jumping headfirst into AI video with Vibes, a new feed where you can create and share short AI-generated clips. It’s built into the Meta AI app and website, and you can remix videos, add music, throw in visuals, then push everything to Instagram and Facebook. Smart move they’re clearly eyeing TikTok’s territory while attempting to monetize their AI investments.

Why it matters:
Have you been struggling with video content? This might be your answer. And it might not. Will this be another flop for Meta? Place your bets now!

C3 AI Recognized as a Leader in Industrial AI Analytics

C3 AI just got some serious recognition from Verdantix in their Green Quadrant: Industrial AI Analytics Software report. They’re being praised for their predictive maintenance and supply chain optimization tools, with real results from big names like Nucor and Con Edison backing up the hype.

Why it matters:
Even if you’re not running a steel mill, the underlying principle here matters. Predictive analytics can prevent costly failures and optimize operations across industries. The case studies from C3 AI show actual ROI numbers something we don’t see enough of in the AI space.

Skild AI showcases an omni-bodied robot brain

Skild AI just showed an “one brain, any robot” demo: a single controller that swaps between a humanoid, a robot dog, and a robotic arm and keeps going even when hardware breaks.
Why it’s a big deal: train once, deploy across a mixed fleet could cut integration time/cost for factories, inspections, and disaster response.

What to watch: real-world reliability, safety controls for a shared brain, and who gets to update that central policy.
If you had one brain for your whole robot fleet, what task would you give it first?

How to Use ChatGPT “Agent” Mode 101

  1. When to Use It
Think of Agent as ChatGPT’s “hands.” Regular ChatGPT just gives answers. Agent can actually do things: like click around websites, fill out forms, organize spreadsheets, and handle tasks step by step.
  2. How to Turn It On
In any chat, pick Agent mode from the menu (or type /agent). Tell it what you want done, and it will start working checking in with you if it’s not sure. Be sure to pay attention to it’s initial questions and then it will alert you when it’s done doing things. You also may need to answer questions mid – process.
  3. Keep Your Passwords Safe
If something needs a login, you enter it yourself using “Take over browser.” Agent will pause, then continue once you’re done. It never saves or shows your passwords.
  4. Don’t Give It Everything
Only connect the apps or accounts you actually need. Be specific don’t just say “check my inbox.” Instead, say exactly what you want it to look for.
  5. Ask for a Plan First
Tell Agent: “Show me your step-by-step plan before you do anything.” That way, you can approve or stop it before it takes action.
  6. Set It to Repeat
If you want Agent to repeat a task (like daily or weekly), click the clock icon on the result. You can manage repeats at chatgpt.com/schedules.
  7. Know the Limits
Agent is only available on paid ChatGPT plans, and there’s a monthly cap (for example, Plus plan = 40 Agent runs per month).
  8. Examples of What Agent Can Do
  • Research for you: “Find 3 competitors’ product launches this week and make me a short slide deck + summary sheet.”
  • Clean up spreadsheets: “Combine these two files, remove duplicates, flag missing info, and give me a cleaned version + notes.”
  • Fill out forms: “Go to this event page, fill in my draft answers, then stop before submitting so I can check.”
  1. Use This Prompt Template
Goal: (what you want done)
Inputs: (files, links, or details you’ll provide)
Rules: don’t buy anything, cite sources, stop before submitting
Deliverables: (what you want back—slides, spreadsheet, report, etc.)
Checkpoints: show me the plan → wait for my OK → continue in steps
  1. Pro Tip
If you already use a Custom GPT (with your style, rules, or brand voice built in), you can hand tasks over to Agent so it not only thinks like you but also acts for you.

Coming to Class?

AI keeps evolving at breakneck speed from video creation to enterprise productivity to industrial operations. So here’s my question for you: Which of these developments could actually move the needle for your business? Maybe AI-generated video content? Or could your team benefit from Microsoft’s new research capabilities?

I’d love to hear what you’re experimenting with. Drop me a line and let’s chat about it.

Cheers,
